Five years after the Services Directive 2006/123 was adopted, the acronyms SGI, SGEI, SSGI remain unknown to the general public, due to an insufficient definition of the respective terms.
With the Lisbon Treaty coming into force, the debate about services of general interest has recently become the central focus for Euro deputies once again, as well as being the subject of numerous communications from the Commission.
